Shopping at Target is fun…and dangerous! I always gravitate towards the home decor isles no matter where I’m at or what I need. Somehow I usually walk out with more things that I had planned on. And, if I don’t buy anything than I at least get some inspiration for DIY’s! I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite home decor items from Target to share with you today.
You can always pull inspiration of current trends by looking in the wall decor isles. Wall art is an easy update for any room that can be changed out easily. This year we are seeing a lot of the victorian inspired mirrors which I personally LOVE! The faux animal heads are still holding strong and we’re starting to see some more colorful decor (yay!)

Lighting is a fun and inexpensive way to lighten up your space and give it some added personality. Again, this is something that can easily be changed out. Statement lighting is trend for 2017 and one of my personal favorite design methods. I like to make a bold statement with lighting and place several different lighting sources within a room to make it feel cozy and functional. Mix it up a bit by using different elements and mixing metals for an eclectic vibe.

So…I’m not into the tribal or bohemian pillows which Target has several of right now. I was able to find a couple eclectic yet fun accent pillows to liven up a room. If you’re wanting a bit of a change, but don’t want to change out everything, look for some fun accent pillows. It will make a big difference in the look and feel of your space.

Not only are the bookshelves and desks surprisingly sturdy, but they are practical and inexpensive! I have two of these bookshelves which look beautiful styled with books and colorful accent pieces. The writing desk is so functional that it has a USB power strip and outlets inside of the desk which is perfect for charging our phones/tablets. Jayli does her homework at this desk every school night and it helped divide our extremely long “bowling alley-like” living room. These furniture pieces can also be easily customized with some contact paper and paint. And that chair, well, I’m a sucker for royal blue…and velvet (which is another trend for 2017)!

Looking to really make a statement in your space? Use a rug as your anchor and find items to compliment them. These are just some of my favorites at Target currently. I adore the cheetah rug. All of these rugs are perfect for high traffic areas, such as the living rooms, but can also be used in other areas of the home as well.
