As I was shopping at Five Below I noticed they had a ton of cute mermaid decor. I picked them up with the intention of doing a mini room makeover with the items I had pulled together. I’m not an affiliate with Five Below; I just want to show you guys that, once again, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on your space to make it look nice. This is a mini room makeover that would be suitable for a kid/pre-teen. I’m excited about this project. If it has a good outcome, I plan on doing more. So make sure that you like, comment, and subscribe! I make videos based on what YOU want to see.
All items were purchased from Five Below
This room just needed some minor accessories to pull the room together. It’s my daughters room that was recently re-decorated. I literally took everything out of her room to create this little mini makeover.
Mermaid Pillow / Mermaid Blanket / Mermaid Storage Bin /Sequin Throw Pillows /Lava Light/ String Lights /Animal Shaped Rug
Throw pillows are a great way to pull a space together using different colors, textures, and prints. I used 1 statement pillow with colors that were in the palette. Then, I incorporated 4 white sequined mermaid pillows to “tone down” and compliment the other colors in the room.
The white animal shaped rug was also complimentary with all the other white accents.
The side storage bin was the perfect size for her little side table. I love using these bins because they provide storage while concealing all the clutter. She already had this mermaid tail blanket so I didn’t buy this for the room, but it is from Five Below and was the perfect addition for this mini makeover!
The shelf above her sofa is used for her beanie boos (but I didn’t want to put more holes in the wall. (If this were permanent I would have taken down the DIY Photo Ledge and put the photos on the wall. But that photo ledge was used for her Beanie Boos)
I thought these string lights were a fun touch to her room because what kid doesn’t want a fort with lights. Plus, it looks super cute underneath her loft bed!
I created a couple mermaid prints and framed them out above her futon. I have created some free prints for you to use as well.
