One of the projects for JJ’s playroom was to put mirrors on the bifold closet doors. This room is pretty small + the builder grade doors are pretty generic. Here’s what the doors looked like before.
Mirrored doors will open up this space, reflect light, + ultimately make this room look bigger and for about $18 you can give these doors a major makeover on a small budget.
Step 1
Get them Cleaned + Prepped
Once you have the doors off the track, give them a good cleaning, if needed.
I also gave mine a coat of paint.
Step 2
Take Measurements
Measure where you want the mirrors to go. These doors have a border and I wanted the mirror to be flush inside the frame.
Step 3
Get your Glass + Prep
I took my measurements to Lowe’s and they were able to get all the pieces I needed out of 1 sheet (30×36″) of glass mirror.
It’s VERY important to sand the glass mirror edges. These things are super sharp and you don’t want anyone getting cut.
Step 4
Glue the mirrors down. I used PL 530 for the most secure hold
I used PL530 to glue the mirrors the DIY Mirrored Nightstand and was really confident with this decision.
Then secured these knobs to the door
