This room was created for Tara. She wanted a completely new room based off an illustration she owns. I put the illustration above her bed with coordinating artwork. She really likes turquoise and pink…she’s a lady after my own heart 😉

She owns the mirrors bedside tables and the rug. She just didn’t know how to make all of it flow together.

I suggested painting the walls a light grey with a blue tint and the ceiling just one shade darker. The accent wall (behind the bed) is 4 shades darker in a beautiful dark grayish blue. The trim is all a crisp white. I also suggest putting the art in white picture frames. I LOVE how that pops out with the white frames and white lampshades.

The turquoise sheer curtains gives that wall a much needed pop of color that coordinates not only with the artwork, but the pillows, and the chandelier.

On the opposite wall, I gave her a place to store all her books, dresser for her clothes, and a stand for her TV. I put pops of color all over the media cabinet/bookshelf with color coordinating books and accessories so it didn’t look like a boring white wall. It’s important to have color all around the room so the room carries through with a nice flow.

I gave her a chair with a blanket and a light fixture above so she could sit in her chair and read books. I also gave her two ottomans on the foot of her bed so her friends would have somewhere to sit and read books/watch tv/girl talk.

I added a little more artwork on the empty wall and pulled the room all together. This color scheme was a lot of fun. I actually want this bedroom…really bad. Whatchya think?

Thank you for reading! XOXO, LACI JANE
